Would recommend this solid bar with great points for further accessories to mount. Good rise riding position for my bike packing bike. Amazing for my back too!
Rebuilt a mid/late 80s Trek 510 frame. The seat tube lacked bottle bosses and I wanted to carry a second water bottle for long rides. These clamps worked well. Note that they lack padding or any protective layer. I applied a strip of electrical tape onto the metal clamps before installing so they wouldn't scratch or damage the frame. The clamps aren't particularly elegant but they're a decent, inexpensive, and easy-to-install solution.
Ritchey Breakaway Carbon. Great Brakes, used the compression less housing cables that came with kit. Much better than TRP Spires Rear 140 and Juin GT4 Front 160.
Large platform. Chord slip resistance but not hard on soles. Bearings are smooth.
Having had no issues with the VO fluted double crankset that I had installed on my road bike several years ago, I thought I'd give the triple a try after damaging the Sugino crankset that came stock on my SURLY Long Haul Trucker. The 68-124 VO bottom bracket that was suggested for the install was not in stock so I went with an Origin8 68-122 BB. No problem! Installation of the triple was very easy. The Surly has a Shimano Tiagra front derailleur that I thought might not work well with the 24-tooth chainring difference between the large and small chainring. All that was required was a few adjustments on the lower limit screw and it shifts fine. No issues. I can't wait to get out on the road with the new setup!
These bars are exactly what I wanted to convert a drop bar bike to up-right bars.
Replaced my Campy NR triple with these. Amazing quality and rigidity. Cheaper than trying to source a TA unit with the correct ring sizes you need. 5 flamin’ chilis!
Had my eyes on this for a long time and I’m so glad I finally pulled the trigger. Super easy to install, and was a suspiciously good match for a surplus waist pack that I have had for a while. It fits perfectly
It's strange, I expected not so big upsweep, but anyway it's interesting model
Regarding the title and the type of device, what else would you expect? Like all the sealed bearing bottom brackets I have dealt with, the outer seals are a bit stiff as new, but the spindle still feels smooth. The finish is nice, even on the parts that are not visible once in place, and the ring for the non-drive side is aluminum instead of plastic, as was usual for Shimano BBs for a long time. Several time I have had the plastic ring disintegrate when I removed them from older frames; this should be fine if you use some anti-seize compound. This BB installed well with the Shimano-style BB wrench, and put my Sugino SD triple crank in the right place on my resurrected Trek TX500 frame.
The wheel build went perfect, well almost. Turned out the hub was bad, so it had to be re-laced with a new hub. The rim was still perfect.
Great brackets! Ordered and still use two from velo orange years ago, but more vintage bikes so needed more brackets!
